Roger Ilitch

Roger is the Chief Executive Officer and brings more than 30 years of experience in government regulation, training design, education delivery, and strategic leadership. He works closely with government clients to develop highly contextualised, fit-for-purpose training programs that respond to complex operational and regulatory environments. With extensive experience supporting Registered Training Organisations, Roger offers deep strategic insight into training design, delivery, and project management, backed by a strong commitment to quality education and practical outcomes. He holds a science degree majoring in Environmental Science from the University of Newcastle, where he received the prestigious BHP in Science Award, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Law from the Australian National University, specialising in Environmental Law, in which he achieved With Merit recognition with a distinction average.

He also has a distinguished background in environmental law and regulation, having worked as an environmental lawyer, prosecutor, investigator, barrister, and former authorised officer under environmental laws. Over three decades, he has advised agencies on strategic regulation, compliance, administrative action, and government decision-making, and has designed and delivered regulatory and investigative training for local government, state and Commonwealth agencies, the United Nations, IUCN, FAO, and Pacific governments including Fiji and the Federated States of Micronesia. A former adjunct professor and passionate environmental practitioner, Roger is deeply committed to environmental protection and has made a significant pro bono contribution to human rights and environmental advocacy. He is a highly respected team player, known for his integrity, ethical leadership, and supportive management style.

Shaun Burke

Shaun Burke is a highly experienced regulatory specialist with more than 25 years’ experience leading and managing complex environmental investigations across government. He has held senior leadership and management roles in major agencies including Fisheries NSW, EPA Victoria, the NSW EPA, Auckland Council, and Victoria’s former Department of Sustainability and Environment, now DEECA. With deep practical knowledge of compliance, investigations, and regulatory operations, Shaun is widely recognised for his ability to translate complex legislative and operational frameworks into clear, practical, and meaningful learning.An excellent communicator and highly supportive trainer, Shaun is skilled at helping learners understand their enabling legislation, regulatory responsibilities, and operating environment with confidence. He is known for delivering highly engaging, relevant, and practical training that is strongly valued by participants and sought after by agencies. Shaun holds a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently completing a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New England, with graduation expected in late 2027.

Jason Bentley

Jason Bentley is an investigator, trainer and consultant with more than 35 years’ experience in investigations, regulatory enforcement and capability development. A former government Chief Investigator, he has led serious, complex and high-profile investigations and multidisciplinary teams. His expertise includes investigation management and strategy, investigative interviewing, evidence collection and analysis, intelligence-led investigations, environmental compliance and enforcement, quality assurance, training and capability development, and policy and procedure design.

Jason has designed and delivered investigation, compliance and law-enforcement training for investigators and regulatory practitioners in Australia and overseas, including police, customs, environmental and natural-resource enforcement officers across the Pacific. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science and Management, a Graduate Diploma of Investigation Management, and qualifications in government investigations and management, as well as training and assessment. Drawing on extensive operational, leadership and mentoring experience, he provides practical training and mentoring that enables practitioners to apply investigative principles effectively in real-world settings.

Karina Pols

I am passionate about teaching conservation and wildlife conservation in remote Indigenous communities. I particularly enjoy sharing practical investigation and monitoring methods while harnessing local knowledge, traditional lore, and traditional ecological insights. Combining scientific approaches with Indigenous perspectives creates meaningful learning experiences and strengthens outcomes for both people and the environment. I find it especially rewarding to support knowledge exchange that empowers communities to investigate, manage, and conserve their local wildlife and natural resources. I have previously worked in remote indigenous communities throughout QLD and NSW whereby I conducted successful training sessions, giving Rangers the confidence in their roles and their approach to their job requirements.
